About me
I am passionate about my work! In addition to being a counsellor, I supervise both students and qualified counsellors and provide external supervision for staff from charitable organisations.
I have a variety of interests and work extensively with neurodivergent clients. A significant part of my work involves counselling individuals navigating a neurotypical world, as well as supporting parents and family members managing complex needs and behavioural issues. I consider myself a neurodiversity-affirming therapist, viewing neurodivergence as a natural variation of the human experience rather than a disorder that needs fixing.
I am dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment that fosters genuine connections, allowing a trusting therapeutic relationship to develop. I believe that these conditions enable us to explore our inner selves, live more confidently and authentically in the world, and form meaningful relationships with others. I assist clients in exploring their unique strengths and challenges related to relationships, social interactions, learning, and their environments.
With over 30 years of experience working with children, young people, and families in Scotland, I have gained valuable insight in both the voluntary and statutory sectors. I qualified as a person-centred counsellor in 2009 and became a counselling supervisor in 2022.
